It’s not everyday you meet a Saluki, what a beauty.Its got most of the attributes I’d like to have in running.The sight of a surgeon,Blistering pace ,sleek lines ,terrific gait.Alas I’m no sight hound!… Although I may have peed on the odd lamppost but that’s another blog entirely!
Ok so I’ve not been able to keep up a regular account of my running ,dog worrying or general descent into madness.Life gets in the way from time to time .My respect to those who maintain regular posting,Feel free to offer your advice!
So bear with me….. Speaking of bear .I got a great surprise Sunday .The wonderful Team Kerr popped around for tea!

They are a terrific family who join us running marathons with their son Aaron.We have met on many occasions now and they are truly inspirational.They were passing after an epic trip to Kerry so we had tea outdoors as Aaron’s chair wouldn’t fit in my door!Im frankly a little grumpy today and they just bring out the best in all they meet.I hear a lot of people talk about making a difference … Yeah lots of talk … Step up and do something!….. Meowwwww…Perhaps it’s the Irish terrier coming out in me !.. Anyhow this is Aaron Bear and Daisy!

So what else,I’ve been training for a little trip to France.Im hoping to follow the Canal du midi as far as I can go….. And celebrate by eating and drinking my body weight in Cassoulet et Vin Rouge!…more to come on that
The preparation involved running three marathons in two days in Balina Co.Mayo which was a great success … Well the event if not my running.Still two marathons and 56 kilometres in two days on a suspect ankle was descent!.Balina was lovely too,having Enda Kennys gob on my television had me fear the worst but Mayo didn’t disappoint .
Daisy enjoyed the haul and ripping up the numbers seems to give her great enjoyment!Apologies about the dirty floor!
She hasn’t been trained to sweep yet!
So that’s it for now ……Roll on France! Target 250 km and air B and B where I need a kip…. This will be a large step outside my comfort zone! What could possibly go wrong!?Ill leave you with one of my top tunes of the moment
